The first step in taking control of your finances is getting a handle on how much money you bring in (income) and how much you spend (expenses).  Understanding your spending patterns is a key step in putting a budget together.  I am offering a spreadsheet that will help you track this and give you insight into where your money goes.  

Basic Template Features:

• Three sheets (tabs): Income, Expenses, and Summary

• Inputs for regular pay and up to 53 rows for other (non-recurring) income 

• Customizable expense categories 

• Input up to 1,000 individual expense items

• Monthly summary of income and expenses (by category) calculated automatically

• Graphs to help visualize and compare

• Compares actual expenses to budget (optional)

The basic template is as-is, with only minor revision options (e.g., dates, currency, colours, etc.).  The standard package will allow you to customize a spreadsheet to suit your specific needs.
